Anthony (Tony) Kennedy was born in Hamilton and lived there until his early twenties. Educated at St Mary's primary school he moved to Monivae College for Year 7, when it was located in the beautiful old building a few miles from Hamilton. Tony was then in the first group of students who went to the new Monivae College. He was a good student and more into arts than sports. Upon leaving school he obtained a job with the Commonwealth Bank and he continued to work in the bank until he retired. He was transferred to several branches and his final move was to Melbourne.
Tony lived in the Malvern - Glen Iris area and was heavily involved at St Roch's Catholic church in Glen Iris. He spent many years on the Pastoral Council and was always willing to help out whenever tasks came up and he made many donations to charitable institutions, including very generous donations to the Monivae College Foundation.
Tony sadly passed away in December 2023, and upon leaving a substantial bequest to the Monivae Foundation will be forever honoured through
The Tony Kennedy and Family Scholarship and Bursary Fund.
